ABOUT US

Who We Are

Founded in November 2000 under the direction of Jaylene Willhite, the Cheyenne Youth Symphony is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing musical opportunities for students in grades 5 through 9. The symphony helps students enhance both their technical skills and musical talents.

The Cheyenne Youth Symphony is divided into two performing groups: the Prelude Symphony and the Cadenza Symphony. Students are placed in groups based on their experience and overall skill level, ensuring that each member receives the appropriate challenges and support. Both symphonies offer numerous performance opportunities throughout the year.

Students will have the chance to showcase their skills in a variety of settings. The Cheyenne Youth Symphony hosts four scheduled concerts annually. During Cheyenne Frontier Days, students will perform in three parades and visit assisted living facilities. Additionally, they will have further opportunities to participate in various community events throughout the year.
