About CYS

The Cheyenne Youth Symphony is a non-profit organization made up of students in the 5th-9th grade from the Cheyenne, WY area.  The Symphony was formed to provide an opportunity for string students to advance their playing ability and use their talents to perform with a select group of musicians.

Classic Music

Artistic Director Jaylene Willhite selects a variety of styles to be performed at each concert consisting of classical, folk, and pop.

Summer Fun

Our musicians have the opportunity to play during the summer also. Fiddle Music is a great way to be part of the Frontier Days Parade

Travel Opportunities

Every other year members of the Youth Symphony get the opportunity to travel to, and play, in amazing places.

Christmas Concert

The Christmas concert is still scheduled for December 16th at 7:00 p.m.  We will have our annual Dessert Auction after the concert.  We would like each CYS family to bring a dessert to be auctioned.  The auction is great fun and the students enjoy parading the dessert items being auctioned.  We hope you will stay for the auction.

The Dress rehearsal for the concert is Friday December 15th.  Junior Symphony 4:45-5:45, Concert Symphony 6:00-7:00.
